In the article titled "October 2023 data-update for "Updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators (DOI:10.17632/btchxktzyw.6)" published by John P.A. Ioannidis on 4 October 2023, a list of scientists with a percentile ranking of 2% or above in the top 100,000 scientists or subfields was published.

In the list, Prof. Dr. Erol Eğrioğlu, a faculty member of our university, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Statistics, managed to enter the 2% percentile in the general career ranking covering all years.
In addition, Prof. Dr. İmdat İşcan, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fikret Ustaoğlu and Prof. Dr. Erol Eğrioğlu from the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, and Prof. Dr. Mükrimin Şevket Güney and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Salih Durdu from the Faculty of Engineering managed to enter the ranking list based only on the citations of 2022.
The following statements were made about the study: "Field and sub-field specific percentiles are also given for all scientists with at least 5 articles. Career-long data are updated until the end of 2022, and the only final year data relate to citations received during the calendar year 2022. Selection is based on the top 100,000 scientists by c-score (with and without self-citations) or a percentile ranking of 2% or above in the subfield. This version (6) is based on the Scopus snapshot of 1 October 2023 and updated until the end of the citation year 2022. This study used Scopus data provided by Elsevier through ICSR Lab. Calculations were made using all Scopus author profiles as of 1 October 2023. If an author is not listed, it is only because the composite indicator value is not high enough to be listed. This does not mean that the author is not doing good work."
